A Sunset to Remember - Sonoma Valley

Do you ever have those moments when everything just comes together perfectly? An awesome group of photographers strolled through a private vineyard in Sonoma Valley with views for days in all directions and a cloud dotted sky to shoot the sunset last weekend and we got to tag along!

It’s been a really warm summer here in Sonoma County and this day was 95 degrees at the start of this beautiful adventure. We walked the vineyards to find just the right spot with our fearless leader guiding us and pointing out where the sun would set and all the amazing features of the property. After sufficiently sweating with a very little breeze in a normally breezy area we headed back down the hill to seek the shade which also provided a perfect opportunity to get to know one another a little better.

In our group, we had a wide range of photographers from amateur (me and the hubs) to professional photographers from vineyards to weddings to landscape, and a very helpful hubs of one of the ladies. Part of what we love about these group meetups is we not only get to learn from other amazing photographers but also get to make personal connections with each of them. Always love hearing how people got to where they are now and what makes them so passionate about the same things we find ourselves being passionate about.

Cline Cellars has an amazing slice of land in the Sonoma Valley and we feel fortunate to have been able to experience it in person. Once the sun started setting we walked back up the hill in the golden light. This is a favorite time of mine. The grasses between the rows seem to glow. The grape leaves light up bright green. A sense of calm overcomes the whole world like when you crawl into bed and that moment you pull the covers over you and snuggle in. As the sun disappeared it cast beautiful purples and pinks and oranges across the entire valley. Absolutely amazing! It’s been a long time since we’ve seen such a sight!
